To the Ann Arbor Music Academy,

I am a cellist and guitarist with more than 16 years of experience in teaching. I am moving to Ann Arbor in the end of August, and I believe I would be a great fit for the Ann Arbor Music Academy. I have taught people from all ages and backgrounds, in individual and group lessons. My schedule will be very flexible, and I can work individually and in group settings.

This summer, I will be a teaching fellow at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Currently, I am an artist fellow with the Iris Collective in Memphis, TN, where I teach and perform on a weekly basis. In this position, I run the orchestra class at Middle College High School, and I helped build and run music classes for Alzheimer and Dementia patients at three different locations. With Iris, I also coach chamber groups with the Germantown Youth Symphony Program, program and perform music workshops for the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf, and perform regular recitals in many different venues in Memphis.

As a performer, I was the cello fellow with the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble at the Aspen Music Festival, and I constantly perform with orchestras and chamber groups around the United States, including the Ensemble Dal Niente in Chicago, and the symphony orchestras of Memphis, Mobile, AL, Lima, OH, Asheville, NC, and many others.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

All the Best,
Otavio
